On the July 16, 2009 episode of Big Brother, Season 11, Episode 4, the houseguests had to eliminate their first player and choose a new head of household.
Braden Calls Lydia Out
Braden was OK about replacing Lydia on the nomination block, and he said he had a feeling he was going to be targeted. Jordan was very upset about Braden being nominated, and later she and Laura began to form a plan to save Braden.
Braden mentioned his feeling to Russell, and Russell pushed and pushed until Braden admitted who he thought sold him out. Braden said Lydia, and Russell told Braden he saw Lydia talking to Jessie. Braden immediately went outside to tell Lydia it was no big deal that she sold him out. He was pretty sarcastic during the conversation, making Lydia feel attacked. An argument ensued, and Braden ended up calling Lydia a skank and a slut.
Lydia Loses It on Jordan
Lydia thought Jordan and she were really close, but Jordan not crying when she was nominated but crying when Braden was nominated was making her think twice. After Braden attacked her in the backyard Lydia went off on Jordan inside the house. She told her the group will backstab her, but Jordan just kept saying she didn’t cry because Lydia isn’t part of her clique.
Jeff tried to defend Jordan, but Lydia and Kevin wouldn’t back down. Jeff told Lydia that not one of them was going to vote her out, but she has now blown any chance of them saving her in the future.
The Live Eviction Ceremony
Before the houseguests cast their votes Jessie was given the chance to speak privately to Julie Chen, the host. He said Braden is the target because he is a strong competitor, and Russell may think he is the brains of the operation but he is still in charge.
The final votes were:
- Russell – Braden
- Natalie – Braden
- Jeff – Chima
- Jordan – Chima
- Kevin – Braden
- Laura – Chima
- Lydia – Braden
- Michele – Chima
- Casey – Chima
- Ronnie – Braden
Since the vote was a tie Jessie, the head of household, made the final decision, choosing to evict Braden. Braden then walked out of the house and on to the set of a live audience. He told Julie he thought Ronnie, Michele or Casey sold him out. When Julie told him it was Ronnie Braden said he wasn’t surprise because he has always thought Ronnie would do anything for the money.
Head of Household Competition
The HOH competition was a quiz. The houseguest were grouped in to their cliques and asked questions about their groups. Their goal was to buzz in first and answer which clique they thought America chose for that question. If you answered the question correctly you got to eliminate something. If you answered the question incorrectly you were eliminated.
Chima was the first person eliminated, and Laura eliminated the most people. Unfortunately, she also eliminated herself. The competition came down to Ronnie, Michele and Lydia. Michele eliminated Lydia, and Ronnie eliminated Michele, earning the title HOH.
